Checkin' in

So it's been awhile since the last update. August has been a busy month. In fact after getting back from Siggraph I have been playing catch up (Utility bills don't scan themselves you know)
Anyhow there are updates for Cirrus that I will be posting later on tonight. I finished building a mid-day light rig for the scene and closing it in. So I will get those up there for all the world to see.

It hasn't been all work and no..... work? though I have revamped my website. Gone is the old menu style and now everything is all out in front. (http://www.frozenbaby.net for those who don't know) I am sure that will make all the potential employers I send there happy. Throw in a new dynamic gallery and viola less work for me :)

There will also be some quick scenes popping up here soon as well. I got some great reference shots from my recent trip to San Fran (god, I love it there... why am I not there right now?) so I am looking to do a couple of quick projects based on them.

That's all for now... visuals to follow.

Also that lamp from the last post has since been beaten to death with the design stick.....

More modeling and a lamp

Ok back again.
I have built the scene up a bit more. I haven't made a huge leap from the last time (and there is a long way to go with all I want to put in here)
but working towards closing off the environment and building in the main structures.
most of the small stuff and accent will be built out of the scene and brought it later.

I am going to stop modeling for now and shift to setting up my light rig while the geometry is
manageable.

I also made this nifty lamp that will more than likely make it into the scene as well at some point. Well, actually I plan to have quite a few lamps.

I grabbed a nifty indoor lighting tutorial from 3Dtotal. I might just divert from Cirrus for a second to build a small indoor environ to walk through their process. The tutorial uses physical sun and sky... which is not my favorite feature in Maya, perhaps with a bit more time I can come to love it.
